STAFF at a York fish and chip shop have boosted The Press’s Guardian Angels fund by nearly £600.
Workers at the Poppleton Road Fish Bar held a Christmas raffle, raising £565 in memory of the great-nephew of owner Margaret Garnett, who is pictured, left, with staff members Sue Pearson and Hazel Blake. Three-year-old Isaac Blake died in January 2006 after suffering toxic shock syndrome. Margaret said: “I know the unit is now up and running, but they still need money to buy new equipment and keep it going.”
More than 25 prizes were raffled in the draw, including a flat screen TV and a food hamper.
