TODDLERS at a nursery came face to face with some birds almost as big as them when they had a visit from a falconer.
Children at Busy Bees Day Nursery, at Rawcliffe, had a visit from Ben Potter and his birds of prey to celebrate National Bird Day.
He brought in a variety of birds, including an owl, a kestrel and two vultures. Nursery manager Ali Cousins said: “We wanted to give the children experience of seeing some different birds. They loved it, there was the odd one or two who were a bit scared but, on the whole, they really enjoyed it and thought it was really interesting.”
