YORK racing sensation Nigel Moore has been tipped as Britain’s hottest prospect for success by leading specialist publication Motorsport News.

The 17-year-old Moore, pictured, who last year won the Ginetta G50 sports car championship in only his second year of racing, was selected by Motorsport News’ panel of experts as the driver most likely to follow in the tracks of Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Moore, who hails from Long Marston, topped the weekly publication’s “Fast 50” list – an annual rundown of the best talents emerging across all disciplines of motorsport.

Said Motorsport News editor Matt Burt: “We’ve assessed all the young prospects in the country and according to our experts Nigel has shown an enormous amount of talent in his flourishing career.

“We are certain he has the ability to go on and achieve huge success within motorsport.

“He is the hottest motor racing prospect in Britain at the moment and we think he deserves the recognition.”

Moore is likely to be driving single-seaters in the British Formula Ford Championship as well as Le Mans-style machines in the British GT Championship when the new season opens this year.

Motorsport News is a national publication, published each Wednesday, which covers all forms of four wheeled motosport from Grand Prix and world rallying to grassroots karting and rallycross.
