Having worked his magic with Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Eminem and Snoop Dogg, Akon is apparently on the production team of Michael Jackson’s comeback album, should it ever see the light of day.
A leaked recording of the two singing on Hold My Hand is hot property on YouTube. Bearing in mind the calibre of Akon’s 155 guest appearances on hit albums, you would have hoped for a more stellar list than Wyclef, Colby O’Donis, Young Jeezy and Lil’ Wayne, but this is not the case.
Actually, you suspect Akon has spread his talent too thinly. For although Right Now (Na Na Na) and I’m So Paid are decent enough, nothing stands out. Akon may be working with all and sundry, but arch rival Ne-Yo is scoring more memorable songs.
