The Damned have produced their first album in more than seven years and the first one in ages that sounds like The Damned of the late 1970s.

The dark, Masonic side of Dave Vanian and the pop rock of Captain Sensible blend together to produce another superb album. The 13 tracks have a great variety of musical twists and turns. Vanian’s vocals and The Captain’s strong guitar beats encompass everything The Damned stand for. From the opening A Nation Fit For Heroes through to the closing Dark Asteroid, So Who’s Paranoid is packed with catchy, sing-along tunes, dark ballads and good old punk rock, and no duffers or fillers.

Despite being around for 33 years, The Damned have sustained phenomenal success and their latest offering looks like affording another masterpiece to add to an extraordinary career for a band that produced the very first punk single, New Rose, back in October 1976.
