WITH reference to “Drink-drive tests anger” (The Press, January 2), the law simply states that drink-driving is an offence.
In my view, anyone doing so, no matter of age, nationality or profession should be barred for life from driving, and where life is lost a ten-year sentence of imprisonment enforced with no parole.
Until such a law is passed by the Government and made permanent, I feel there will always be someone who will take such risks.
Let’s start the new year right, get firm, get it right now; give them a punishment to regret, but never forget.

* THE best and only way to stop people from drink-driving is, if they are found to be over the limit, give them a lifetime ban.
Plus, have their car confiscated and the proceeds given to charity then if they decide to break the ban and get caught they get an automatic five years in jail. This should also apply to people who drive while on their mobile phones. Let’s start looking after the innocent and punish the guilty.
