York Knavesmire Harriers took a strong squad to the Brighouse for the Pennine 10k on a hilly course in cold conditions.

Graeme Adams took the main prize for the Knavesmire club with a first position in his age group (M65) in a time of 52 minutes and 36 seconds.

John Oliver was third in the (M50 class) 38.38, and Malcolm Fawcett third in (M65) in 55.06. In the ladies’ race, Margaret Oliver took third place in her age group (F50) in a time of 56.04.

Other Knavesmire Harriers finishers were Neil Kingham 40.34, Martin Smith 42.10, Graeme McAllister 43.21, Matthew Page 44.59, Phil Riddall 45.21, Simon Drew 45.34, Alistair McLeod 46.13, Jonathan Hampton 47.20, Dick Hunter 50.22, Tom Sankey 52.13, Gill Barker 53.00, Margaret Metcalf 54.18, Margaret Brown 57.00, Jane Hartas 58.30, Garry Moss 1hr 01min, Andy Young 1:01, Helen Leach 1:01, Susan Adams 1:04 and Dawn Raimes 1:05.

Meanwhile, Jane Newman clocked 47min 19sec in the New Year’s Day 10k at Cleethorpes, with Helen Leach finishing in 1:01.00.
