A COUPLE who are part of the team behind York's newest specialist coffee shop have pulled out.
As The Press reported in August, The Divine Project a specialist coffee shop focusing on 'freshly roasted, genuinely good coffee', opened in 22-24, Market Street.
The new venture was a collaboration between the owners of North South bar in Bootham and Divine Coffee Roasters, a York-based coffee roastery which also has a cafe in Micklegate.
North South opened back in 2019 and was Rich and Laura Taylors’ first venture into a business start up.
Posting on social media today (October 4) the Taylors said: "We have made the decision to focus all our attention on North South and will therefore no longer be part of The Divine Project.
"We've had a blast working with the Divine guys on the new project and we know they'll take it forward and make it a success.
"We wish them all the best with the venture and will be popping in from now on to drink flat whites rather than make them."
As The Press reported, trade was reported as "busy" by staff and owners on the first day of the Divine Project on August 22.
The Taylors called the business North South as Laura was formerly based in the North East, while Rich grew up near Cambridge and North South will remain open alongside the new venture.
The The Divine Project was previously Toymaster and before that, The Early Learning Centre which closed in 2015.
