A BRIDGE in York city centre has reopened following a police incident.
North Yorkshire Police, the fire service, ambulance paramedics and York Rescue Boat were all at the scene on Ouse Bridge at lunchtime today (Friday, October 4).
Ouse Bridge was shut to cars and pedestrians in both directions but has since reopened.
Police officers were instructing vehicles coming along Clifford Street to perform U-turns.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "A concern for safety report was made at 11.38am today (Friday October 4) about a person who was on Lendal Bridge. The person was brought to safety and is now receiving care from health professionals.
"The bridge is now open again and we would like to thank the public for their patience whilst we dealt with this incident."
