Smoke will be seen billow out of York Minster as part of a training exercise by the emergency services.
Firefighters are carrying out the exercise at the historic building from 6pm to 9pm tonight (Monday, September 30).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service urged members of the public not to be alarmed if they see the cosmetic smoke coming from the cathedral.
“There’s no need to panic, and call 999, it’s just our crews carrying out a training exercise,” a service spokesperson said.
