A video has now emerged of the moment a driver had a mishap while "parallel parking" - and smashed straight through the front of a bungalow.
CCTV shows the Jaguar I-Pace pull up, appear to start to park, before shooting forwards at speed, towards the home.
The whole front wall of the property caved in, and utility providers were on site trying to make it safe for a further 12 hours, an onlooker said.
Fire, ambulance and police attended the scene following the crash around 11am on Friday, September 20.
Nobody was hurt, but it is thought the bungalow can't be saved and will be demolished, a neighbour said.
One of the residents said: "I got in from work and was sitting down to a cup of tea when I heard a huge bang.
"I looked out and saw it happen.
"The kitchen boiler was lying on the floor. Someone had to come out and make the gas safe.
"She was parallel parking and the car just shot forward across the road straight into the bungalow - I was really shocked.
"We all feel really bad for the resident. I think he moved in just a few months ago.
"It was a very lucky escape really.
"If it had been a weekend there would have been loads of children playing in the street and it could have been a very different outcome.
"The driver of the car was going slowly then said the car sped up suddenly and it just wouldn't stop."
