Soanes Poultry’s Higher Welfare Chicken from Middleton-on-the-Wolds has reached the final in the Best Sustainable Product category in the 20th Annual Deliciously Taste Yorkshire Awards.
Soanes Poultry MD Ben Lee said: “We’re proud of our commitment to sustainable chicken rearing and to producing chicken that tastes like chicken used to. We’re delighted to have come through the blind tasting round to reach the final of this award that celebrates the best of Yorkshire’s sustainable food and drink producers.”
Head Judge, BBC Broadcaster and artisan food expert Nigel Barden said: “Each year, Yorkshire food and drink businesses out-do themselves with the quality of entries and it was no exception in our 20th year of holding these awards.
"It’s a real pleasure to see Yorkshire businesses continuing to innovate and create the most delicious products.”

Winners will be announced at a dinner at the Pavilions of Harrogate on Wednesday, November 6, when Nigel Barden and chef consultant, Steph Moon will host an evening of champagne, local food and celebration.
Soanes Poultry is a family-owned business which has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947.
