Firefighters were called after reports of youths lighting fires in a York play area.
A crew from Acomb responded to the report at about 6.40pm on Friday (September 21).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a member of the public had extinguished the fires when the crew arrived.
“Crews carried out an inspection and gave advice to responsible persons,” a spokesperson said.
The fire service did not disclose the name of the play area.
