A WOMAN was rescued after falling down an embankment into a river last night in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service dispatched a firefighter from Malton to Norton after receiving the call at 2:40am today (September).
A spokesperson said: “Malton crew committed a firefighter wearing a dry suit and used lines and crew power to rescue a female who had stumbled down an embankment and then up to her chest in the river.”
The woman was then left in care of paramedics.
