AN angler had to be rescued after a mishap in a North Yorkshire resort.
North Yorkshrie Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at 10.32am today (September 13) after reports of an incident in Whitby.
A service spokesman said: "A crew from Whitby responded to reports of a person who had jumped onto a ledge from a pier, to retrieve a fishing rod, then got stuck on the ledge.
"Crews used a triple extension ladder to assist the person back to the pier."
