Police have seized thousands of pounds in suspected fake bank notes on the streets of York - and officers want to hear from businesses which may have been targeted.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing to any business in the city which may have unwittingly accepted a fake Scottish bank note earlier this week to get in touch.

Yesterday (September 4), North Yorkshire Police worked with York BID Street Rangers to recover and seize around £4,000 worth of suspected counterfeit Scottish notes on the streets of the city.

If you believe your business was targeted on September 4 and you have not yet spoken to the police on the matter, please email jack.sisson@northyorkshire.police.uk or call 101, select option two and ask for Jack Sisson.
