A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted whilst visiting a major venue in York.
Police are appealing for information about a sexual assault that occurred at York Racecourse close last month.
They say the assault happened near the Theakston bar, close to gate 10, between 11.50am and 4.45pm on Saturday, August 24.
“A woman who was standing in a queue was touched inappropriately,” said a police spokesperson.
The suspect, who appeared to be attending alone, is described as being in his late 20s to 40s, broad built, and was wearing a flat cap and jacket.
He was also said to be ‘not smart’, something which would have made him stand out against racegoers.
