Luke’s Bakery is celebrating a triple win at this year’s Great Taste Awards as three of its sourdough loaves have been honoured with gold stars by the Guild of Fine Food.
The award-winning loaves - White, White & Rye, and Malted Granary Sourdough - were all recognised with stars, marking an outstanding debut year for the Yorkshire sourdough start-up in these national awards.
Founded in 2022 by Luke Jenneson, Luke’s Bakery has become popular with bread lovers across the region.
From its headquarters in Brough, the team bakes thousands of sourdough loaves a week, supplying shops, homes and hospitality businesses across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Reflecting on the bakery’s achievement, Luke’s Bakery Founder and Director, Luke Jenneson, shared:
“It means a huge amount to receive not one, but three Great Taste Awards in our first year entering. We often hear from customers that our sourdough is the best they’ve tasted and being recognised in such prestigious national awards is a huge milestone.”
“We take pride in slow-proving our dough for unbeatable flavour, bake for just the right amount of time and never take shortcuts on simple, honest, local ingredients.
“Thank you to the judges, the Guild of Fine Foods and of course my brilliant team at the bakery.”
