EMERGENCY crews have been called in after a fire has been started deliberately in a North Yorkshire resort.
The county’s fire and rescue service say they were called in at 10.42pm on Wednesday (August 29) after reports of a fire in Whitby.
A service spokesman said: “A crew from Whitby responded to a small campfire left unattended near the road.
“Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet. The cause of this fire was believed deliberate.”
