A cyclist has died after a crash with a van in North Yorkshire.
Both the cyclist, a man in his sixties, and the driver of the blue Transit van, a man in his thirties, crashed when travelling westbound on the B6165 near Burnt Yates - according to North Yorkshire Police.
The force said it happened at around 6.10pm on Tuesday, August 20.
The road - which is north of Harrogate - was closed for a "number of hours" while emergency services responded, and carried out forensic investigations.
"Our thanks go to members of the public who stopped to assist at the scene," Officers added.
"The cyclist, a local man in his sixties was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but sadly was pronounced deceased."
The driver of the van was arrested. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
