A 17-year-old boy missing from his home in North Yorkshire has been found safe, police said.

The teenager, from Scarborough, was reported missing after last been seen in the Foreshore Road area of the town at around 10.35am on Sunday (August 4).

North Yorkshire Police said his family had been unable to contact him, urging anyone with information about his disappearance to get in touch.

On Friday the force confirmed that he had been found safe.

"Thank you to everyone who provided information to help find him," a police spokesperson said.
