UPDATED 2.53PM: The road has now reopened and the accident has been cleared in Field Lane near Main Street.
REPORTS are coming in of a crash in a popular York suburb.
There are reports of a crash in Field Lane in Heslington on the outskirts of York with traffic affected both ways near Main Street.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
It's not yet know if anyone has been injured.
