WITH reference to "Danger dog to be destroyed" (The Press, February 4).
A dog attacked another dog, the first time it had attacked anything or anyone, but it seems because it was a rottweiler, York Crown Court has sentenced it to be put down - although, in my point of view, this type of dog should be bred as guard dogs only and not as pets.
I think the sentence was too harsh. If Judge Geoffrey Marson feels he has made the right decision in this case, perhaps he should sit on some of the yobboes' trials and pass sentence on them.

* THIS is victimisation against a certain breed of dog, ie a rottweiler.
Just to let the magistrates and the council know, dogs fight, dogs also show aggression when strangers come to their owner's homes.
This dog, Penny, has not bitten anyone.
If I was Penny's owner, I wouldn't have Penny put to sleep.
If there was ever a case of over-reaction, this is it.
