Following recent letters regarding Huntington Road Day Centre, it is true to say that there has been less communication with centre users recently due to some unforeseen circumstances, including staff sickness.

However, the work to put alternative support in place has continued, based on the individual meetings held with customers to discuss what they wanted to do in the future.

Some of that work has been directly with users of Huntington Road, looking at spaces in the community and the appointments of staff to new posts working in the community will soon be under way.

It is also important to stress that many of the activities that people want do already exist or could be expanded in existing settings, provided that the proper support and information is there for people.

There will be meetings very soon with customers and the head of adult services, where people will have a chance to hear about some of the recent developments, and the plans for the next stage. This will also be an opportunity to ask any questions, and voice any concerns.
