CHARLIE CRESSWELL played 90 minutes as the England under-21s lost 2-1 to Slovenia.
Cresswell, who was raised in York, picked up a yellow card playing in a defence with Djed Spence, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Ben Johnson.
It was England’s first European Under-21 Championship qualifying defeat since 2011, when they lost to Belgium.
England, who had already qualified, went behind within the first minute after a Spence own goal.
Mark Zabukovnik doubled Slovenia’s advantage in the second half before Cameron Archer scored a consolation goal in injury time.
