WITH the closure of the garage in Lord Mayors Walk, surely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has been missed to open up a further view of the city walls - the hope being that at some time in the future the rest of the buildings to Monk Bar will go, giving a magnificent eastern approach to the city.
We have an equally incongruous situation at the other end of Lord Mayor's Walk, where two houses have been retained and the extensions to the University of St John are having to be built around them, giving a complete architectural eyesore.
