ACCORDING to Northern Powergrid there are still nearly 10 places across North Yorkshire without power after Storm Arwen wreaked havoc.

Overall there are currently still eight areas across North Yorkshire still without power after Storm Arwen.

The news comes after around 100 servicemen and women are set to move into County Durham to help recovery operations.

Military Personnel will carry out welfare checks on locals and are set to be based at St John’s Chapel in Weardale.

The move comes after a request from County Durham and Darlington Local Resilience Forum for additional resources due to the number of homes affected.

Below are the areas across North Yorkshire still without power after Storm Arwen:

  • Y010 in Nicholas Gardens: Power is set to be restored by 6pm today
  • HG3 on Cardale Park: Power is set to be restored by 10pm today
  • HG3 1RA on Shawn Lane: Northern Powergrid are reviewing how long it will take to get power back on
  • HG3 on Skipton Road: Northern Powergrid are reviewing how long it will take to get power back on
  • HG3 near Brimham Rocks Road: Power is set to be restored by 10pm
  • HG3 near Blazefield Bank: Power is set to be restored by 12pm
  • HG3 and HG4 near Skell Beck river: Northern Powergrid are reviewing how long it will take to get power back on.
  • HG4 on Melmerby Green Lane: Power is set to be restored by 12pm
