A FESTIVE-THEMED drive-in cinema is coming to York next month - featuring a range of Christmas classics.

The Drive in Cinema, the UK’s leading car-based events company, has announced a brand new tour, bringing the very best Christmas classics to car-assisted British audiences this winter - including 'Elf', 'Love Actually' and 'Home Alone'.

The festive film feast will lift the curtain on 27 showings, across 22 events in 12 cities - entertaining 15,000 people in the lead up to Christmas from the comfort of their own cars - including at York Racecourse on December 6 and 7.

Callum Campbell, founder of The Drive-In Cinema, said: “We are so excited to be taking the best Christmas movies of all time on tour across the UK for a second time, and to give people something to look forward to.

"The Drive In Cinema is a truly magical movie experience and a brilliant event for all the family - the perfect combination of nostalgia, novelty and entertainment. We had a great time last year and demand has proved popular again for 2021.”

York film lovers can look forward to a schedule of festive, feel-good movies, shown on the 20-foot high screen at York Racecourse, including 'Elf', 'Love Actually' and 'Home Alone'.

Tickets for the UK tour are on sale now and can be purchased online priced at £33.00 per car. As well as a cinema screen, event-goers can also look forward to street food and additional entertainment, including interactive quizzes and live comedy.

Following a successful summer season of late-night movie showings, this will be the company’s second ever Christmas tour and largest run of drive-in events.
