DINOSAURS are heading to a community theatres in York this winter.

In December, Theatre@41 at Monkgate will be hosting ‘Teach Rex’, a touring organisation which aims to enthral children in a fun and engaging workshop.

Teach Rex have, in the past, sold out to audiences of more than 300 at a time, and will be bringing their new and exciting ‘Velociraptor’ experience to a smaller, more intimate group of viewers in York.

Sam Bryan, from Teach Rex, said: “We are always looking at new, different and unique spaces to deliver our show. This will actually be the most intimate show we have ever done and we are extremely excited to deliver this to the wonderful families of York.”

The show runs for 45 minutes, and uses lifelike dinosaurs to both teach and captivate the young people in attendance.

This particular show will guide children through misconceptions of the velociraptor with an interactive, prehistoric journey. They will learn what the velociraptor actually looked like, whilst also being able to meet the only fully feathered velociraptor in the world.

Following the show, children will be able to attend a meet and greet with the dinosaurs, in which they will be able to dance and take pictures with them.

For younger children, they will be able to meet baby dinosaurs, as well as getting a ‘Dino Booklet’ with crayons to keep busy.

The event is suitable for children of all ages, there will be four showings on December 22 at 10.15am, 12.30pm, 2.45pm and 5pm respectively.

Tickets cost £10 for children or £14 for adults. Also, a family of four can attend for £40.
