A NEW outdoor event coming to a popular East Yorkshire venue will take visitors on a "magical outdoor journey of spectacular sounds and lights" this December.

There are still tickets available for some performances of Sewerby Winter Woodland, the new event at Sewerby Hall and Gardens.

Visitors will be able to discover the The Snow Queen and journey deeper into the woodland, with opportunity to make some winter magic of their own - taking part in activities such as wand making and learning spells.

Councillor Mike Medini, portfolio holder for cultural and leisure assets, said: "I am delighted that Winter Woodland is proving so popular this year, and I can’t wait to see this amazing event."

Visitors will also be able to sample local craft stalls, including Fox Gins, hot roasted chestnuts, Stables Pizza and a range of gift stalls.

The house itself will also be filled with Christmas decorations and trees.

The event will run from Friday December 3 - Thursday December 23. Tickets cost £12 for adults £8 for children and £35 for a family ticket and can be purchased on the venue's website.
