A UNIVERSITY in York is offering a free law clinic supporting people and small businesses who need assistance with a range of legal issues.
York St John Law Clinic's work has expanded this year, moving into brand new, customer facing premises on campus with a suite of offices, conference and interview rooms, offering direct access to the public.
Seventy undergraduate and postgraduate students along with experienced staff make up the clinic - and are all working on specific projects to support those in need including 'CLOCK' in which students help those without representation in family proceedings.
Chris Smith, director of professional practice, said: “We are delighted to be marking our return to campus following the pandemic with the launch of this exciting new course and our fantastic new client-facing premises.
"As an institution with a deep commitment to social justice, it is important that we provide students with opportunities to access the legal profession."
If you require legal assistance, please contact the clinic on 01904 876976 or email lawclinic@yorksj.ac.uk
