MORE than 350 York schoolchildren caught Covid in the last week of October, latest figures have revealed.
City of York Council's weekly Covid data tracker report says that in the seven days up to November 1, there were 357 children of primary or secondary school age who tested positive across 43 schools.
It said 34 individuals within the University of York community were self-isolating because they had had a positive Covid, and 18 individuals within the York St John University community were isolating.
It added that as of Wednesday, four care homes in the council area had a confirmed Covid infection involving at least one staff member or resident.
