A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured after a collision with a cyclist.

North Yorkshire Police say they are now appealing for witnesses and information after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision with a bike at about 9pm on Friday (October 29) on the A6136 Leeming Lane near Catterick village.

A police spokesman said: "A cyclist collided with a man who was walking his dog on the pavement running along this road.

"The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

"We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and in particular we are appealing for information about the cyclist.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for PC Crawford 103.
