A MAN had to be cut out of his vehicle after a crash.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called out at 3.22pm today to the Lebberston area of Scarborough.

A spokesman for the service said: "Filey and Scarborough crews attended to assist with a single vehicle road traffic collision.

"Crews worked with hydraulic cutting and spreading equipment on the vehicle to allow the safe release of a male driver, who had become trapped as a result of the collision.

"The casualty was removed from the vehicle and left in hands of paramedics."

The extent of the man's injuries is not known at this time.
