A DRIVER is in a 'critical' condition after a taxi crashed into a lamppost in an East Yorkshire village.
Humberside Police said the collision happened at 11am on Monday in Main Street, Hutton Cranswick, near Driffield.
A spokesperson said a Ford Journey green and white taxi left the road and collided with a lamppost.
"The driver is thought to have had a medical episode at the wheel and has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition," they said.
"Anyone who saw the collision, or the vehicle prior to the incident that has not already spoken to us, is asked to call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 152 of 25 October 2021."
