Over the last few weeks workers have been installing power points for motorists to recharge their electric vehicles at the bottom of the St John’s Street car park.

This is in line with the policy of cutting down and reducing pollution in and around York.

The only problem is they’ve installed them in the places reserved for disabled badge holders, just outside the Monkgate doctors surgery.

With many patients having restricted mobility, the extra distance they’ll have to negotiate to get to the surgery is nothing short of criminal.

Why didn’t the planners consider the disabled access to the doctors? This is another blow for York’s disabled people.
