A SECOND World War incendiary device had to be blown up after it was delivered to an address in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire fire and Rescue dsay they were called out at 12.28pm today (October 26) to Malpas Road in Northallerton along with other emergency services.
A spokesman for the service said: "Crews from Northallerton responded to reports that a world war two incendiary device had been delivered to an address.
"The crews remained on standby and assisted police to cordon off the building until the arrival of the explosive ordnance disposal team to arrive from Catterick.
"The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team then transported the device to open ground where it was disposed of in a controlled explosion."
