A PEDESTRIAN has been killed in a collision with a milk tanker.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened on the A684 Harmby Road at Harmby Leyburn early today, at just after midnight
The pedestrian, a local man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, said a spokesperson.
"The road was closed for several hours to allow police to carry out investigation work at the scene of the incident and was reopened just before 8am this morning.
"The tanker driver is assisting police with their inquiries. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the pedestrian, milk tanker and or any other vehicle travelling along Harmby road between midnight and 0020hrs to come forward.
