FAMILIES of all backgrounds are wanted to offer a "caring forever home" to children in care homes.
National Adoption Week aims to champion the voices less heard in adoption by shining a light on the real-life stories of those working directly to help provide safe and loving homes for children and acknowledge others impacted by adoption.
City of York Council and One Adoption North and Humber, the region's adoption agency, has backed the event.

This year’s event aims to educate and inform people on the process of modern adoption today - with an honest and inclusive portrayal of the journey.
It will feature adopted children, adopted adults, adoptive parents, birth parents, and the adoption and social care workforce.
Cllr Ian Cuthbertson, City of York Council’s Executive Member for Children, Young People & Education, said: "We are looking for families from all backgrounds who can offer a permanent, caring, forever home to children who may not have had the best start in life.
"We hope to increase awareness of adoption and offer opportunities for people to find out more about how they can help change a child’s life.”
The event ends this Sunday.
