A FORMER working men's club that was once a hub for York's community has been transformed into a four bed house.
The Post Office Employees Social Club opened in 1937 - but, despite its name, it has no link with the Post Office - it was simply founded by four postal workers.
The club was popular with locals for 80 years with regular performances from musicians.

The newly-converted townhouse on Marygate has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and two reception areas.
Estate agents Hudson Moody described it as a "stunning" house in an "ennviable location inside the city walls".
A number of period and ornate features remain in the property - including the fireplace and doors.
The modern, diner kitchen is met with sliding doors, shining natural light into the home and leading into the rear courtyard garden.
Hudson Moody has listed the property at a guide price of £775,000. Anyone interested in further information should call 01904 650650.
