THREE more Covid patients at York and Scarborough hospitals have died, taking the total death toll since the start of the pandemic to 665.

NHS England revealed the latest deaths at the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust today,just three days after it had announced five such deaths last Friday.

The trust said today that it was currently treating 53 Covid inpatients, of whom four were in intensive care, and it had discharged a total of 2,709 Covid patients since the start of the pandemic in March last year.

The trust has previously been unable to say how many of its current Covid patients were or weren't vaccinated.
