THIS area of York is shown to have the highest Covid case rate in the city - according to the latest data.

The figures from Public Health England (PHE) show Bishopthorpe and Copmanthorpe to have the highest rate at 579.1 cases per 100,000 population and 48 cases in the area. This means the area is shaded purple on the PHE map as the rate is between 400 and 799.

South Bank and Dringhouses is also shaded purple as the rate is 403.1 cases per 100,000 population, with 32 cases in the area.

Fulford Road and Clementhorpe is shown to have the lowest Covid rate in the city at 112.9 cases per 100,000 population, with 15 cases in the area. This means that the area is shaded light blue on the PHE map as the rate is between 100 and 199.

Other areas of York shaded light blue on the map include the city centre, Heworth South and The Groves and Tang Hall.

The city's overall rate is shown to be 269.2 cases per 100,000 population, with a total of 23,412 cases recorded during the whole of the pandemic.
