IF IT wasn’t for people like Chris Packham there would still be bear baiting in this country.
No doubt there are those who would happily bring it back but cruel practices inflicted upon any creature have no place in a decent, civilised world.
Sadly we have not got a decent, civilised world. In many countries cruelty to animals is off the scale. It’s horrific.
Thankfully, here in the UK we have laws in place to prevent humans causing suffering to animals and birds. Yet still it goes on. Chris Packham continues to speak out against it, despite on-going intimidation, most recently a fire at his home.
He has a voice and in his position, that voice can hopefully make a difference. I admire him immensely.
