I WONDER how many visitors to Vangarde Shopping Centre at Monks Cross realise that the length of time they have to park is entirely dependent on York City Football Club and York City Knights Rugby League Club's fixture list?
I have met with a friend, early afternoon on a Tuesday two or three times a month when we visit the shops and have tea and a chat. Imagine my surprise when later that week, I received a parking fine for staying two hours 20 minutes because there was a football match that evening and the normal parking time of four hours had been reduced to two hours.
How is an 80 year old lady shopper, or visitors to our city, expected to know when a match is being played in the evening when there are no notices and even the parking supervisor was unaware?
