UPDATED 9.45PM: The road has now reopened.
DRIVERS are being asked to avoid a busy route after a lorry has shed a load of pork products.
The A170 is currently closed both ways at Sutton Bank due to a shed load of pork between National Park Centre and the Osgoodby turn.
Traffic is coping well, but drivers are being asked to take care and find alternative routes where possible.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire County Council said: "Please be aware there are currently delays on Sutton Bank on the A170 due to a wagon shedding its load. "While the road is still open, the issue is causing delays as traffic moves through.
"North Yorkshire Police are on site managing the situation."
The road has been fully closed since around 3.30pm.
