A VENUE popular with families is hosting an Autumnal themed weekend this month.

The weekend of Saturday and Sunday, October 23-24, will see Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, celebrating the season with themed food and drink stalls and demonstrations.

Local businesses, charities, and other local communities will be showcased at the event, with stall holders including Bar Walls Gins, who create spirits based on York’s history, and the award-winning Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice, Askew Candles, who create beeswax candles from old bottles and wood carver Woodwyrm.

Hannah Highsted, visitor experience officer at the hall, said: “We’re really looking forward to our Autumn Festival at Nunnington Hall this year.

“It’s great to be welcoming local businesses and community groups to Nunnington Hall and celebrating the season, from autumnal apple juice to candles to light up your home as the nights draw in.

“So come along and enjoy a glass of mulled cider whilst exploring the stalls, hall and garden.”

Nunnington Hall will be pruning the orchards ready for orchard tours, and preparing for the apple juicing displays, and craft demonstrations.

Plus, on the Sunday, October 24, the dance group, Leeds Morris Men, will be performing on the main lawn, and artist Gillian Tyler will be doing lino cutting and ink demonstrations, who has an exhibit in the house.

The house, exhibitions, and gardens will also be open as normal over the weekend, with the tea-garden serving food and drink.
