A RISING star on the comedy scene is coming to perform his stand up in York.

Comedian Tez Ilyas has launched his national tour, ‘’The Vicked Tour’.

He promises his audiences a ‘Vicked time’, and will be performing in York on Friday, November 19, at 7.30pm at The Crescent.

Tez said: “I have so missed my day job... that I do in the evenings.

“ I cannot wait to tour the country and celebrate our freedom with my fans.”

Tez is known for his ‘silly, smart and subversive humour’, and politically astute stand up, and was nominated for Club Comedian of the Year in the Chortle Awards 2021.

He has his own Channel Four series, The Tez O’Clock Show, stars in the BBC Three sitcom, Man Like Mobeen, and has appeared in Mock The Week and The Last Leg.

In April 2021, he published his teenage memoir, ‘The Secret Diary of a British Muslim Aged 13 3/4’, which delves into his life growing up working class in the British Asian Muslim community in post-Thatcher Blackburn.
