HALF the commercial vehicles stopped by police yesterday in North Yorkshire had defects or broke the rules.
As part of a week of action North Yorkshire Police are taking part in Commercial Vehicle Week all week, checking that goods vehicles comply with the law with random checks being carried out.
Traffic Constable David Minto said: "We were at the A19 Exelby Services on Tuesday (October 12). It was another busy day for us all with 24 vehicles checked. 12 (50%) were found to be non-compliant, with varying issues.
"You’d not be entirely surprised to see that the vehicle in the pictures was pulled over.
"A prohibition was issued by DVSA Enforcement after a defect was identified with the anti-roll bar linkage."
