Accident partially blocks main road in to York
UPDATED 6.55PM: The road reopened at 6.40pm. The accident has now been cleared and traffic is flowing freely.
DRIVERS are being warned to expect delays after an accident on York ringroad.
The city's outer ring road is closed both ways with queueing traffic due to an accident between Strensall Road at Earswick and Wigginton Road at Clifton Moor at Haxby Road on the roundabout.
There is traffic congestion at the Clifton Moor Retail Park and along Haxby Road. On the roundabout. Police confirmed the road fully closed at 5.30pm.
Drivers are being asked to try and avoid the area if at all possible.
It's not known if anyone has been injured at this time.
