POLICE are checking commercial vehicles as part of a week of action.
North Yorkshire Police are taking part in Commercial Vehicle Week all week, checking that goods vehicles comply with the law with random checks being carried out.
Traffic Constable David Minto said: "I’m working through to Saturday to support these daily operations. Yesterday (October 11) we were at Teesport working with Cleveland Police, Ports Police, DVSA Enforcement and the UK Border.
"The lads in the van in the pictures were a bit too hasty with their loading it was 680Kg overweight. Nearly 20% over. We issued an immediate prohibition order and the van continued on its way some time later once the excess weight was off-loaded."
